Antonio Alfonso Bencomo Hernandez

Dr. Antonio Alfonso Bencomo-Hernández is the General Manager at ADSCC Research Center, bringing over 38 years of extensive experience in the health sciences field.

Previously, Dr. Bencomo-Hernández played a pivotal role as the Director and founder of the Center for Transplantation and Tissue Engineering (CICEL) and served as the Deputy Director for Advanced Technology at the Institute of Hematology in Havana, Cuba. His contributions extend to serving on the editorial board of the Cuban Journal of Hematology, Immunology, and Hemotherapy.

An accomplished author, Dr. Bencomo-Hernández has authored over 100 articles in the fields of Immunohematology, Transplantation Immunology, and Cell Therapy. His diverse career encompasses guiding 51 research projects and overseeing master’s theses, medical specialists, and Ph.D. candidates.

Dr. Bencomo-Hernández holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from the University of Havana and earned his Ph.D. in Health Science from The Institute of Medical Science of Havana. He served as a Professor of Hematology and Transfusion at The Institute of Medical Science of Havana and currently holds the position of Senior Investigator at The Institute of Hematology and Immunology (IHI), Havana, Cuba. Additionally, he served as the Past President of the Cuban Society of Hematology.
