Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics studies how genes affect a person’s response to medications by combining the fields of clinical pharmacology (the science of drugs) and genomics (the study of genes and what they do). The goal of pharmacogenomics is to incorporate genomic information into medication prescribing protocols. The PGx National Flagship Program embraces the most innovative drug-related problems and ADSCC’s pharmacogenetic decision support tool to provide an all-in-one, evidence-based precision medicine solution to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. This markedly enhances patient care while substantially reducing healthcare expenditures, advancing population health management through real-life big data and AI/ML, and positioning Abu Dhabi as an omics-driven research and innovation hub.
