ADSCC’s Kidney Diseases Program is to develop a treatment for advanced chronic kidney disease using mesenchymal stem cells obtained from the umbilical cord. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells that have the ability to develop into different types of cells in the body. The MSCs can be used to help repair damaged kidney tissue and reduce inflammation in the kidney thereby restoring kidney function and preventing further kidney damage.
